Contribute to the Peace from the Porch Project...
Since 2004, The Peace from the Porch Project has produced concerts and CDs to help raise funds and collect goods for non-profit community organizations we believe in. Our first project was Peace from the Porch, Vol. 1. That compilation CD and benefit concert raised thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. Every penny paid for a disc went to ACS. We didn't keep any of it. In 2006, we presented our second project, Peace from the Porch Vol. 2. and a series of benefit concerts. Every penny from that disc went to agencies that support victims of domestic violence and child abuse. Again, we didn't keep a dime for ourselves. In late 2007, we celebrated the revival of our flagship concert series, Bear Creek Concerts, and we collected children's books for a local library that offers adult literacy courses. Again, we paid out to produce and we paid out to support. In 2008, we collected hundreds of pounds of food for our local food pantry. Once again, the PFTP team donated its time and money to keep the project moving.
We're not a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status. We're just a bunch of community minded philanthropic volunteers who love independent music. So we combine our passions to bring a little peace to the home front. But don't get the wrong idea about our philanthropy. We're not rich. In fact, we're working class, by that I not only mean our paychecks, I mean we work extremely hard to raise that money and present high quality productions. Therefore, we could use a little help. Our sound system has millions of hours of music on it. It's been donated to many, many community events. It's tired and we need to upgrade to keep doing what we do.
